Looking at how acupuncture can help with lumbar spinal stenosis, a form of low back pain.
Woman suffering from low back pain
Anybody who has suffered an episode of low back pain knows how debilitating it can be and how frustrating and helpless you can feel. In this study they looked at non-surgical interventions for people with lumbar spinal stenosis with neurogenic claudication. (narrowing of the spinal canal in the lower back leading to intermittent nerve compression and pain/numbness) This study backs (get it!) what we find in clinic, that “acupuncture was associated with clinically important long-term pain reduction and statistically significant improvement in long-term function.” Low back pain is something that we have a lot of success in treating in the clinic.
