Research looking at how acupuncture can help people have less side effects and better quality of life going through cancer treatment.

Getting a cancer diagnosis is a blow. Thankfully treatments have come a long way, with new ones coming online all the time. In this research paper they look at how using a properly trained acupuncturist (eg a TCM one) can significantly help people get through the hospital treatment phase. In order to have a chance to successfully combat the cancer, the treatments are strong and often have debilitating side effects. I find that in clinic, when the western treatments are combined with the acupuncture, that people get less severe side effects (like nausea, tiredness and neuropathic pain.) and have much improved quality of life through the treatment phase.
