Looking at why acupuncture can help with cervical (neck) spine nerve compression.

Cervical (neck) Spine Spondylotic Radiculopathy

Cervical Spine (neck) Spondylotic Radiculopathy (besides being a powerful spell taught to Harry Potter by Professor Lupin) is a condition where the neck bones degenerate and the nerves coming out of the spine are affected. Common symptoms are pain and tingling/numbness of arms and hands. According to this research, and my own experiences in clinic, acupuncture shows significant clinical promise. In this research they look at why and how this happens. Here we are! Acupuncture shows “central analgesia via endogenous opioids (eg, β-endorphin), downregulation of pro-inflammatory mediators, enhanced local microcirculation, and modulation of oxidative stress.”
