Research looking at using acupuncture to treat acute one-sided neck pain.

Woman suffering from neck pain

In this study they used acupuncture to treat unilateral acute neck pain associated with cervical spondylitis. Essentially cervical spondylitis is when parts of the spine in your neck start to where out. They found that “acupuncture effectively reduces neck muscle stiffness, alleviates pain, improves cervical function and local hemodynamics, with a favorable safety profile” and low long-term recurrence in patients. This mirrors what we find in clinic. Acupuncture usually does a great job of helping with neck pain, stiffness and movement.
