In this small preliminary study they used acupuncture to try and help with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) after bladder cancer surgery and treatment. The acupuncture group showed significant improvement in the total number of voiding episodes within 24 h, daytime voiding frequency, episodes of urinary urgency, and episodes of dysuria following the local chemotherapy treatment, as well as improving overall quality of life as reported by the patients.
